Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Grand Haven, MI
Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Grand Haven seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and assess risks.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Provide EHS training to employees on various topics, including hazard communication and emergency response.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper disposal and record-keeping.
- Maintain and update EHS recordkeeping systems and prepare regulatory reports.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate safety into new equipment and processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
- 3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct EHS training, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Experience with developing and implementing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001).
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
- Experience with ergonomics assessments and improvements
- Ability to provide EHS training to diverse employee groups
- Proficiency in EHS software platforms
