Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor – Operating Room
Location: Urbandale, IA
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Hourly Rate: $40.66 – $61.00
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Variable Shifts
- 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM
Weekend Rotation Required
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (Full-Time)
Relocation Bonus: $10,000 (for candidates relocating 50+ miles)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to provide leadership within a dynamic Operating Room (OR) environment. This role involves overseeing daily perioperative operations, supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.
The RN Supervisor will work in a fast-paced surgical setting serving patients across the lifespan, including neonates through geriatric populations, and will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence and clinical quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of perioperative patient care
- Provide clinical leadership by directing and coordinating patient care activities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Assist with departmental budgeting and financial oversight
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Lead quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Maintain productivity, efficiency, and high standards of patient care
- Participate in staff development, coaching, and performance management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Current Iowa RN license (or Compact license eligible for Iowa)
- Current BCLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Operating Room (OR) experience required
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
