Job Summary
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients, residents, and clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with therapy activities and exercises as outlined in treatment plans, under the guidance of a physical therapist.
- Monitoring and recording therapy services for individuals with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments.
- Selecting and implementing therapeutic activities tailored to each patient's goals and competency levels.
- Documenting patient responses and communicating effectively with the supervising physical therapist.
- Staying informed about targeted therapy outcomes and contributing to achieving these goals.
- Adhering to accepted clinical practice guidelines and performing related duties as needed.
Your focus may vary based on facility needs, including post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- A degree from an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A valid license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.
- A valid driver's license may be required, depending on the role.
