Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare role is available for an Occupational Therapist skilled in hospital-based therapy, located in Oklahoma City, OK. This contract position focuses on providing superior care within a Critical Illness and Rehabilitation setting, where patient and employee safety remain top priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient functioning based on physician orders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Participate actively in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Complete thorough and timely documentation in accordance with department policies.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students, assisting with orientation and skill development.
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining awareness in all aspects of care.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver optimal patient care.
- Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality, appearance, and excellent customer service.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and contribute to quality assurance documentation.
- Maintain flexibility with patient scheduling and participate in team conferences and discharge planning discussions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in hospital or rehabilitation settings.
- Ability to supervise and mentor therapy assistants and students.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards, including safe patient handling and infection control.
- Excellent communication skills to convey treatment plans and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
