Customs Clerk – 2nd Shift

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour
Status: Full-Time
Location: El Paso, TX



Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Customs Clerk to support our logistics and compliance operations. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in customs processing, import/export documentation, or logistics coordination. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing customs paperwork, ensuring regulatory compliance, and working closely with internal teams, carriers, and brokers to ensure smooth and timely shipment clearance.



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit import/export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with U.S. Customs regulations, company policies, and shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal departments to resolve documentation or shipment issues.
  • Track and monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
  • Accurately enter and maintain shipment and customs data in internal systems.
  • Assist in resolving customs holds, discrepancies, and compliance-related concerns.
  • Verify product classifications, HTS codes, duties, and fees as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of all customs documentation and communications.
  • Provide administrative support to logistics, shipping, and compliance teams.
  • Stay current on customs regulations, documentation standards, and compliance updates.


Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in customs processing, logistics, shipping, or import/export documentation.
  • Working knowledge of customs requirements, shipping documents, and compliance procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and preparing paperwork.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with customs brokers or freight forwarders.
  • Knowledge of HTS codes, tariff classifications, duties, and fees.
  • Familiarity with logistics software or WMS systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
