Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Hudson, Florida
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Position Overview

A leading acute care hospital in Hudson, Florida is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU to join its Critical Care team. The ICU RN will provide comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes through evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This role requires strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring of vital signs and hemodynamic status.

  • Administer medications, IV drips, and advanced therapies in accordance with physician orders.

  • Manage ventilators, invasive lines, and other life-support equipment.

  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in code response teams as needed.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care progression.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida (or compact state).

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of ICU or Critical Care experience preferred.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • ACLS certification required.

  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ventilators and advanced cardiac monitoring.

  • CCRN certification preferred.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
