Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating press brake machines and will be responsible for fabricating metal components according to precise specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints effectively. The Press Brake Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production processes.
Duties
- Operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal sheets according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality inspection.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain machinery by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Assist in the setup of tooling and fixtures for various jobs.
- Operate additional machinery as needed, including CNC plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, and stamping presses.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of two years' experience with AccuPress, AccuShear, Amada Press, and Whitney Punch Press.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC lathe operations, and electrical discharge machining is preferred.
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding, plasma cutting, and machining.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication processes.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively and safely.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is a plus.
- Experience with quality inspection processes using precision measuring instruments.
