We are seeking a Manual Machinist to join our team! This is a full-time, on-site role for an experienced Machinist, located in Thomasville, NC. The Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment, producing custom precision parts, and repairing equipment for the company's diverse customer base. This role requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency in the shop environment.
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in manual machining, including operation of lathes, mills, and other related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings
- Skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing equipment maintenance and repairs
- Attention to detail and understanding of quality assurance processes in machining
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet project deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and aptitude for working independently and as part of a team
- Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating manual machining equipment
- Ability to read prints and drawings
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail
Preferences:
- Experience and ability to weld is a plus
- Additional certifications in machining, manufacturing, or a related field are a plus
- Certification to drive a forklift
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift material in excess of 35 lbs.
