Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Elementary Affective Needs (severe emotional/behavioral) located near Brighton, CO. This contract position runs through the end of the school year, providing a rewarding chance to support students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold a current CDE Special Education Generalist license.
- Experience working with students who have severe emotional and behavioral needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Location: Near Brighton, Colorado
Schedule and Responsibilities:
- Work days: Tuesday through Friday
- Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique affective needs of elementary students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet behavioral and academic goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings to support student development.
