Job Description Production Line Worker
Responsibilities
- Read job specifications and procure all applicable tooling.
- Set up machines to accommodate job orders and specifications in the production run.
- Conduct ongoing visual inspection of machines for leaks, loose belts, etc., according to a checklist.
- Perform clearance procedures for shift changeovers.
- Conduct machine adjustments as needed to meet customer specifications.
- Complete setup profile sheets for new jobs.
- Perform checks for compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and promptly report equipment malfunctions, material, safety, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Complete forms, documents, and quality measurements per production run.
- Perform line clearance procedures in the event of a product change.
- Comply with company personnel and safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Perform special projects and assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Observe machine operations and verify conformance of machined workpieces to specifications.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical failures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Experience in production, blueprint reading, and machine operating.
- Proficiency in using calipers, hand tools, and conducting inspections.
- Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with press brakes, tape measures, and punch presses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing Environment.
- Previous experience in tube manufacturing.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Mathematical skills to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Analytical skills in problem-solving and group facilitation.
- Reasoning ability to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
