Your Responsibilities

As a CNA at Carolina Inn, you will play a vital role in our residents’ daily lives. Your typical duties will include:

• Personal Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding – always ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.
• Health Monitoring: Take and record vital signs, observe residents’ health status, and promptly report any changes or concerns to the nursing team. Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
• Emotional Support: Build meaningful relationships with residents. Offer companionship, lend an ear, and provide comfort and encouragement. You’ll be someone our seniors trust and look forward to seeing each day!
• Team Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with nurses and other care team members to carry out care plans and ensure top-quality care. Communicate effectively with colleagues and family members to meet each resident’s needs.
• Documentation: Accurately document the care and services provided during your shift, in compliance with facility policies and healthcare regulations. This helps maintain our high standards and 4-star quality rating.

(Don’t worry if you’re a newer CNA – we provide orientation and training to set you up for success! Our experienced team is always ready to mentor and support you.)

Qualifications & Requirements

We’re looking for dedicated CNAs who have a heart for seniors and the skills to provide exceptional care. Minimum requirements include:

• Active North Carolina CNA certification (Required) – You must be listed in good standing on the NC Nurse Aide Registry.
• Passion & Compassion: A genuine desire to help the elderly and improve their quality of life. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are a must!
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with residents, families, and your care team. You listen with empathy and can communicate residents’ needs effectively.
• Multitasking & Reliability: Ability to multitask and stay organized while caring for multiple residents. You should be dependable and able to follow routines and safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.
• Team Player: Willingness to work as part of a team, support your colleagues, and contribute to our warm, family-like workplace culture.
• Physical Endurance: This is an active job – you should be able to lift, move, or transfer residents as needed (with proper techniques or equipment) and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Clear Background: Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (Required for all team members for the safety of our residents).

Bonus: If you have prior experience in assisted living or memory care, or current CPR/First Aid certification, let us know! While not required, these are a plus.
