Pacesetter Personnel Services is hiring a Machine Shop Supervisor in Houston, TX 77099.
Job Description:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of CNC machinists and supporting roles at both
- Assign jobs, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Provide technical guidance on machining processes, setups, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure machining operations comply with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and GMP requirements.
- Support in-process inspections and verify the dimensional accuracy of machined components.
- Partner with Quality to address nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
- Enforce OSHA and HSE standards within the machine shop.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment (5S).
- Oversee preventive maintenance of CNC machines, lathes, mills, and related equipment.
- Train machinists and operators on CNC programming, setups, and inspection practices.
- Cross-train staff to build flexibility across shifts and machine types.
- Provide performance feedback and support employee development.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, tooling improvements, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with Engineering on manufacturability of new product designs.
- Contribute to Lean and Six Sigma initiatives at the shop-floor level.
Job Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the production floor (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and shop-floor data collection tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and GMP standards.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, machining tolerances, and GD&T.
- 3–5 years of experience in machining/CNC operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 40-50 pounds
- Visual acuity to read technical drawings, machine displays, and inspection instruments, with the ability to distinguish fine detail, surface finishes, and color indicators.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to machine oils, coolants, lubricants, airborne particulates, and variable temperatures (with required PPE provided).
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle small parts, operate tools, and perform inspections requiring fine hand–eye coordination.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday (7 am to 4:30 pm)
Occasional Saturdays as needed, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
Pay:
85k yearly. We pay weekly.
