Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Occupational Therapist opportunity is available to support K-12 students at a public school in White Rock, NM. This contract position spans the 2025-2026 school year, running tentatively from August 4, 2025, through May 29, 2026. The role focuses on delivering specialized therapeutic services that promote student development and independence in the educational setting.
Responsibilities include assessing students' motor and sensory needs, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with educators and families to support student progress. You will also be responsible for accurately writing and maintaining Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Regular communication with multidisciplinary teams is essential to ensure cohesive intervention strategies.
Qualifications and experience:
- Valid and active New Mexico State Occupational Therapy licensure
- Proven experience working with K-12 students in a school environment
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and documentation requirements
- Ability to design and execute therapeutic interventions tailored to diverse student needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with school staff and caregivers
