Job DescriptionConsumer Loan Officer
Purpose:
Assist members with loan products while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Evaluate applications, analyze credit history, and make sound lending decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Interview applicants, process applications, and verify financial information.
- Analyze credit reports, calculate debt-to-income ratios, and determine loan eligibility.
- Approve, deny, or recommend loan applications with professionalism.
- Complete loan documentation and disburse funds when approved.
- Provide exceptional member service through clear communication and timely follow-up.
- Cross-sell credit union products and services.
- Train and support junior loan officers as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of consumer lending or financial services experience required.
- Knowledge of loan products, underwriting standards, and compliance regulations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and member service skills.
- Proficiency with loan processing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
