General Purpose:

To ensure effective and efficient behavioral health services are delivered to patients throughout the STRIDE system, the Director of Behavioral Health provides vision and leadership in the creation and on-going development of the Behavioral Health service line and associated programs at STRIDE. This position is allocated .6 clinical FTE and .4 administrative FTE.


Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, oversee and continuously evaluate the scope of behavioral health services offered at STRIDE for maximization of patient impact, fiscal viability and best practice. Collaborate with clinical staff and other STRIDE department members to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of integrated behavioral services to STRIDE patients.
  • Establish, develop and enhance the relationships that STRIDE has with behavioral health agencies in the service area, as well as manage memorandums of understanding and contractual obligations.
  • Provide direct administrative oversight to the Associate Director(s) of Behavioral Health and mentorship/leadership for all behavioral health providers.
  • Develop and report measures of success of behavioral health programs.
  • Ensure legal and ethical compliance of behavioral health service delivery throughout STRIDE system.
  • Oversee nationally accredited psychology training program.
  • Oversight of Medication Assisted Treatment and substance use disorder services, as well as SUD Services Lead position.
  • Provide direct patient care.
  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and active, unrestricted licensure in Colorado required (licensed psychologist).
  • Experience working in a non-profit health center preferred.
  • Minimum 2-year program management and leadership experience
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 4 years clinical service experience
  • Experience and success with program development and implementation
  • Experience working in integrated primary care settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with mental health treatment modalities required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with substance abuse/dependence issues, treatment and paraprofessional support modalities required.


Certificates, Licenses, and Registration

  • An active, unrestricted licensure in Colorado required (licensed psychologist)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.

  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDEs patient population.
  • Ability to collaborate and develop partnerships with STRIDE departments and other organizations.
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients.
  • Skill in using a variety of an electronic health record and computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.

  1. Clean motor vehicle record and ability to submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing.

We offer a salary range of $101,000 - $117,000, depending on your experience.

This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
