Town of Farragut – South Ward Alderman Appointment

Position: South Ward Alderman – Appointment to Fill Midterm Vacancy
Location: Town of Farragut, TN

Posting Date: August 29, 2025
Application Deadline: September 10, 2025, by 12:00 PM EST

The Town of Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen is seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacant South Ward Alderman seat due to the passing of the previous Alderman. The appointed individual will serve until the next municipal election for the South Ward seat in August 2026, at which time the seat will be subject to election in accordance with the Town Charter, the Farragut Municipal Code and Tennessee Code Annotated.

Deadline: September 10, 2025, by 12:00 PM EST; All resumes must be received by this time. Resumes received after that time will not be considered for purposes of this appointment.

The appointee will be required to take the oath of office prior to assuming official duties.

The appointed Alderman will serve until the next regular municipal election for the South Ward seat in August 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of the Town of Farragut, reside in the South Ward, and maintained continuous residency in the South Ward for at least one year prior to the appointment. View the Farragut ward map here.
  • Be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a registered voter in the Town of Farragut, specifically in the South Ward.
  • Not currently holding any other incompatible public office under Tennessee law.
  • Disclose any financial, employment, or personal conflicts of interest that could affect Board service.

  2. Proof of residency and voter registration (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill, voter registration card).
