The woodworker will be responsible for assembling store fixtures made of wood. These fixtures are designed to display products in retail settings, such as faucets, makeup, shoes, and belts. The role involves using hand tools, power tools like nail guns, and glue for assembly and adjustment. It is crucial to select the correct parts based on written instructions and perform visual inspections of parts during assembly. The process includes placing components into jigs, gluing, nailing, and clamping them together until dry. Continuous improvement of processes through employee feedback is encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Assemble store fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Select correct parts based on written instructions.
- Perform visual inspections of parts during assembly.
- Place components into jigs, glue, nail, and clamp them until dry.
- Contribute to process improvement through feedback.
Essential Skills
- Experience with general production and mechanical assembly.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and written instructions.
- Experience with tape measure and mechanical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ years of stable work history.
- 1+ year of assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to work well in a team and with limited supervision.

Work Environment
The work environment consists of a clean and well-lit assembly area, separated by a wall from the machine area. Occasionally, workers will need to retrieve parts from the machine area. The environment has a wood shop atmosphere with some dust, but it is equipped with strong vacuum and ventilation systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
