Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working or volunteering with school-age children preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and a caring demeanor in classroom environments
- Ability to follow teacher guidance and implement instructional activities as directed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or related field a plus
- Willingness to participate in training or orientation provided by the school
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with classroom management and instructional tasks
- Offer individual or small group support to students, including those with special needs
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials and resources
- Supervise students during non-instructional times as needed (lunches, recess, arrival/dismissal)
- Encourage positive social interactions and reinforce school expectations
- Support students in following routines and engaging fully in classroom activities
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, nurturing learning environment
