Position Overview

As a Superintendent you will oversee the life cycle management, financial management and close out of a project to ensure completion to customer requirements within set deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

Reads and understands specifications as a prime contractor and subcontractor
Understands and schedules work within budget. Review and monitor projects compared to budget
Provides all necessary information and support to site foreman
Obtains stockpiles and staging areas
Schedules material suppliers and subcontractors while monitoring progress
Schedules equipment and labor with job foreman
Maintains extensive communication with customer (Agencies, prime contractors and owners)
Reviews field time sheets for labor, equipment and rentals
Attends preconstruction and weekly construction meetings
Works closely with General Superintendent to coordinate labor and equipment on multiple crews
Set up all work prior to actual construction
Manages people as a team and produce an excellent workforce and product.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and specialty traffic control programs
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to draft clear and effective letters/emails
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Available to deal with project issues during off hours
Ability to deal with difficult and possible aggressive deadlines and customers to produce positive results
Must have an understanding of general accounting and job costing.
Valid CA Driver License and good driving record

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of 5 years at a management role in the Construction Industry
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
Demonstrated ability to take accurate field measurements, take-offs, etc.
Proficient in MS Office 365 products, internet, estimating software, etc.
Ability to read an interpret jobsite drawings, blueprints, and maps
Valid CA Driver License and acceptable driving record
