Position Overview

As a Superintendent you will oversee the life cycle management, financial management and close out of a project to ensure completion to customer requirements within set deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reads and understands specifications as a prime contractor and subcontractor
  • Understands and schedules work within budget. Review and monitor projects compared to budget
  • Provides all necessary information and support to site foreman
  • Obtains stockpiles and staging areas
  • Schedules material suppliers and subcontractors while monitoring progress
  • Schedules equipment and labor with job foreman
  • Maintains extensive communication with customer (Agencies, prime contractors and owners)
  • Reviews field time sheets for labor, equipment and rentals
  • Attends preconstruction and weekly construction meetings
  • Works closely with General Superintendent to coordinate labor and equipment on multiple crews
  • Set up all work prior to actual construction
  • Manages people as a team and produce an excellent workforce and product.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and specialty traffic control programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to draft clear and effective letters/emails
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Available to deal with project issues during off hours
  • Ability to deal with difficult and possible aggressive deadlines and customers to produce positive results
  • Must have an understanding of general accounting and job costing.
  • Valid CA Driver License and good driving record

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years at a management role in the Construction Industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to take accurate field measurements, take-offs, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 products, internet, estimating software, etc.
  • Ability to read an interpret jobsite drawings, blueprints, and maps
  • Valid CA Driver License and acceptable driving record
