Job Title: Design Technician
Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company
Duration: 2 Years
Location: Mounds View, MN 55112
Shift: 1st Shift
Role Overview
• Support product design and development activities for medical devices
• Create and modify component designs using CAD tools
• Provide technical support for production, testing, and process improvement initiatives
Responsibilities
• Design components or system portions and modify existing designs to improve products
• Create design layouts, sketches, and technical drawings using CAD tools
• Utilize software such as CAD, CAM, CATIA, ProEngineer, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX
• Coordinate design requirements with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and planning teams
• Perform testing and troubleshooting using schematics and technical documentation
• Gather and analyze technical data and perform calculations for design activities
• Support production, maintenance, safety, and product development teams
• Run projects, perform complex tests, interpret results, and prepare technical reports
• Assist in improving systems and processes for better efficiency
• Train or guide lower-level technicians and review work when needed
Must Have
• Minimum 8 years of relevant design technician experience
• Experience with 3D Printing
• Strong experience using CAD or similar design software
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• High School Diploma, vocational or technical certification
Nice to Have
• Tooling experience
• Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or ProEngineer
• Experience working in medical device or manufacturing environments
• Experience leading technical tasks or supporting junior technicians
