New Hire Pay Rates: Up to $21.00 per hour, to start

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team in New Castle. The Opportunity
In this role, you aren't just drawing blood—you are the vital link between the patient and the laboratory. You will work within a supportive team environment, gaining experience in various collection techniques and clinical procedures.
Shift Flexibility: To provide 24/7 care to our community, this role involves rotating shifts. Examples include:
- Early Mornings: 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Mid-Day: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Evenings/Nights: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM or 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Note: Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation. No on-call or travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform venipuncture, heel sticks, and finger sticks using proper identification procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Clinical Support: Instruct patients on self-collection procedures and assist in procuring non-blood samples.
- Laboratory Logistics: Transport specimens safely between collection areas and the lab; utilize computer systems to enter demographic data and test orders accurately.
- Professionalism: Respond to inquiries from patients and medical staff with courtesy and efficiency.
- Quality Control: Adhere to strict hospital policies regarding hygiene, isolation precautions, and specimen stability.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience is preferred, though we encourage graduates of phlebotomy programs to apply!
- Training: Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is highly preferred.
- Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is a plus.
Preferred Certifications:
- Phlebotomy Technician (PBT-ASCP) or equivalent.
