Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) Travel assignment in Templeton, California. Start date: 04/13/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,577 to $2,778 per week. Shift: 4x10s days. Work setting: Short Term Acute Care setting. This is a travel - temporary assignment seeking an experienced RNFA with perioperative expertise. No guaranteed hours are specified.

Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative nursing care as the first assistant, scrubbing and circulating during procedures in ortho, ortho totals, gyn, and general surgery.
- Maintain a sterile field, assist with instrument handling, tissue retraction, hemostasis, and wound closure as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team and anesthesia provider to optimize patient safety and outcomes throughout the operative course.
- Prepare and position the patient appropriately, verify counts, and document intraoperative events for postoperative care.
- Assist with postoperative transitions and ensure clear communication of operative findings and plan with the rest of the perioperative team.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of California
- Graduation from an approved school of nursing
- Certification: Completion of an approved didactic RNFA course; CNOR
- Experience: Minimum 3 years scrub and circulate experience in an acute care facility; OR experience in ortho, ortho totals, gyn, and general surgery within the last 3 months
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Healthstream/RQI equivalents; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Annual surgeon review requirement
- Current professional liability insurance (PLI)
