Lighting contractor located in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn is looking for an entry level recent college grad to work in their Quoting/Estimating department. Work hand and hand with the project management and sales team while using your math, logic, and customer service skills. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to kickstart their careers and gain valuable experience in a professional environment. The Recent Graduate will have the opportunity to learn how to estimate and quote projects for the design, manufacturing, and distribution of lighting fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Effectively read and evaluate architectural and electrical drawings
- Conduct a detailed takeoff of lighting structures as shown on the drawings
- Read and check lighting specifications to insure they are in sync with layout and application on drawings
- Interact with clients if inconsistencies in specifications are discovered
- Estimate lighting changes for bulletins/addendums on projects in progress
- Prepare bid packages based on customer's bill of material
- Collaborate with management/sales team on proposals
Qualifications
- Recent graduate
- Any experience with Estimating/Takeoffs, lighting, or reading schematics, or architectural studies in school
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
