Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs. The RN identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for patients through initial and ongoing assessments. Responsibilities include performing therapeutic nursing interventions, managing care of patients, and documenting care based on standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. The RN advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Patient-centric care is provided in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Med Surg/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting.
• Strong Med Surg/Tele background.
• Critical thinker with skills in medication administration, assessments, and a strong foundation in pathophysiology.
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and conduct stroke assessments.
• Customer service skills, patient education, professionalism, and the ability to cope with a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
• Demonstrates integrity.
• ASN degree.
• NIHSS certification.
• Telemetry certification.
• BLS-AHA certification.
• CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours certification.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN degree.

Additional Information:

• ACLS certification required.
