Job DescriptionPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused professional to join our team in a lead journeyman role. This position is responsible for installing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in industrial, commercial, or construction settings. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair piping systems, tubing, fittings, valves, and related components according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and isometric diagrams to determine layout and installation requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, fabricate, and assemble pipe using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Inspect piping systems for leaks, alignment, pressure integrity, and overall performance.
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day work activities for assigned crew members or apprentices.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, tradespeople, contractors, and other team members to support project goals.
  • Troubleshoot issues and recommend practical solutions to support timely project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, and progress updates as required.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized, clean, and safe.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman-level pipefitting experience in industrial, commercial, or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, installation methods, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience using pipefitting tools, welding-related equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to guide and support team members.
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety practices and hazard recognition.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a lead or foreperson capacity.
  • Familiarity with large-scale mechanical, industrial, or maintenance projects.
  • Additional safety training or relevant certifications.
  • Experience supporting training and development of apprentices or junior team members.

Work Environment

This role may involve working in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, construction sites, or maintenance environments. The position may require standing, climbing, lifting, bending, and working in varied conditions. Candidates should be comfortable following strict safety procedures and adapting to changing project needs.
