Job Description

A deburrer, also known as a deburring technician or deburring machine operator, smooths and finishes manufactured parts. They remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from parts to ensure they meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Removing defects and smoothing uneven surfaces
  • Cleaning and organizing work area
  • Inspecting parts for quality
  • Operating specialized machinery
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and machines to grind, file, or sand surfaces
  • Utilize microscope most of the day

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with machine shop tools
  • Ability to learn and apply new knowledge
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

Working environment

  • Typically works in the field of manufacturing as a piece of the post-production team
