A full-time paraprofessional position is available in an elementary school setting in Hanover, NH, offering an exciting opportunity to support a young student with unique learning needs. This contract runs from the current school year through June 2026.
The role involves working closely with an elementary student who has a low IQ and experiences PTSD, requiring specialized assistance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in school environments and possess skills in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), particularly discrete trials and behavior management. This background is essential to provide effective support tailored to the students specific needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one support to an elementary student with a low IQ and PTSD.
- Implement ABA techniques, including discrete trials and behavior interventions.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to create and follow individualized learning plans.
- Monitor the student's progress and report observations to the educational team.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in schools as a paraprofessional.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with ABA methods, behavior management, and discrete trials.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work full time, approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week.
Location: Hanover, NH
Duration: Contract through June 2026 (current school year to June)
Schedule: Full-time, weekdays
