Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a Maryland or compact RN license, EPIC experience, and night shift availability with every-other-weekend coverage.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 46-bed Emergency Department with an average daily census of 140
  • Patient population spans all age groups, including neonates, with diagnoses such as chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
  • Patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
  • Specialty equipment includes a Belmont rapid infuser for trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, rapid infuser, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
  • Charting is performed in Epic; experience is required
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:30–08:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as scheduled
  • Floating required within the specialty as needed
  • No scheduled on-call required
  • Provide emergency nursing care across a broad patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Manages high-acuity cases including trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke
  • Holiday coverage required on assigned holidays as they fall on the schedule
  • First-time travelers with 5 or more years of ED experience are welcome to apply

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a compact state license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), CPI, and TNCC
  • Minimum 3 years of ED nursing experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience will be considered
  • Epic EMR experience required
