Architectural Project Manager / SR. PM – Grocery + Commercial
Locations: Orange County (OC) OR San Diego
Schedule: Hybrid (4 Days In Office / 1 Day WFH Flexibility)

The Position: We are actively seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager with strong Grocery project experience (grocery, shopping stores, retail, and commercial etc.) to join our growing team. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity responsible for managing multiple projects from planning through construction while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal project teams. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of technical expertise, project leadership, client management, and operational execution. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading clients on grocery, grocery shopping stores, commercial, tenant improvements, renovation programs, rollout initiatives, and ground-up projects throughout the region.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage grocery and commercial architecture projects from concept through completion.
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout all project phases.
- Develop project work plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate internal architectural teams and external consultants.
- Oversee project execution while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Manage client expectations, communication, and project deliverables.
- Facilitate project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy and quality.
- Monitor project financial performance, profitability, and resource utilization.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions.
- Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor and develop junior project staff and emerging leaders.
- Collaborate with studio leadership on strategic project planning and team growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field.
- 8+ years of architecture project management experience.
- Strong experience managing grocery stores, grocery/shopping operators, commercial, mixed-use, or tenant improvement projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Project management experience with full project cycle, design through construction (CA/CD) phases, to successful delivery.
- Strong understanding of project schedules, budgets, contracts, and project delivery.
- Experience leading client relationships and project teams.
- Proficiency in Revit and related design software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- NCARB / CA Licensed Architect license preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience mentoring project teams and managing client accounts.
