Job Title: Financial Aid Advisor
Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Schedule: 5-day workweek with two evenings (up to 8:00 PM) and every other Saturday
Work Location: On-campus (in-person)
Position Summary
The Financial Aid Advisor supports the Director of Financial Aid in administering student financial assistance programs and delivers excellent service to students throughout the financial aid process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students with applications for all forms of financial assistance (Federal, State, Agency, Veterans, Employer, etc.)
- Conduct entrance and exit counseling for student borrowers
- Perform data entry and file maintenance in CampusVue, FAME, and NSLDS
- Complete need analysis and financial aid packaging in CampusVue and FAME
- Verify and correct financial aid application data
- Prepare Professional Judgment applications for Director review
- Maintain student files, assemble new student information and application packages, and complete clerical tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid and/or Campus President
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–2 years of experience as a financial aid officer/advisor
- Working knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations, including Title IV
- Strong attention to detail; effective problem-solver; ability to multi-task
- Professional communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
- Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that can be stressful at times
- Physical mobility throughout the facility
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
