Salary: $80k-$95k depending on experience level
Location: Irvine, in-office Monday-Friday
Job Overview:
We have an immediate opening for a commercial construction estimator in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in utilizing Excel on an expert level, BlueBeam software for accurate cost estimation and be proficient in reading specifications and blueprints. The role involves assessing project requirements, conducting quantity take-offs, analyzing costs, and preparing comprehensive estimates to support the bidding process.
Responsibilities:
· Estimation: Utilize Excel and BlueBeam software and other relevant tools to perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimations for commercial construction projects.
· Reading Specifications: Interpret and analyze project specifications to ensure thorough understanding of requirements and constraints.
· Blueprint Interpretation: Review and analyze architectural and engineering blueprints, identifying key components and understanding project scope.
· Cost Analysis: Evaluate material, labor, and equipment costs, considering market trends, supplier quotes, and historical data to produce reliable estimates.
· Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and comprehensive bid proposals, incorporating all relevant cost factors and ensuring competitive pricing.
· Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy of estimates.
· Documentation: Maintain organized documentation of all estimation processes, including records of quantities, pricing, and assumptions made during the estimation process.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, construction technologies, and best practices related to estimation methods and software tools.
Requirements:
· Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator in commercial construction projects
· Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and an Advanced Excel user.
· BlueBeam Proficiency: Proficient in using BlueBeam software for quantity take-offs and estimation processes.
· Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints and specifications.
· Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately calculate costs and analyze data.
· Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
· Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with various stakeholders and present estimation findings clearly and convincingly.
· Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required
Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction estimation or BlueBeam software are advantageous.
