An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a K-12 setting located in the Naval Anacost Annex, DC. This contract position is set to begin in mid-April and will run through the current school year. The role involves working across two buildings and focusing on Pre-K 3 through 5th-grade students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Manage a caseload potentially consisting of up to 12 special education students and 8 students with 504 plans.
- Utilize the OSSE and DC Charter Board HUB systems for IEP development and compliance.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid D.C. teaching license with certification in Special Education.
- Experience with various special education caseloadsdetails on resource or self-contained settings to be provided.
- Knowledge of federal and local regulations regarding special education services.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple school buildings.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including a one-hour unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week).
