We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a short-term contract basis in Orlando, Florida. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the preparation of essential financial documents. This position requires expertise in computerized accounting systems and a strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
• Post and adjust journal entries to correct discrepancies and align with financial reporting needs.
• Maintain and manage general ledger accounts with precision and accuracy.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online and other accounting software to organize and track financial data effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to complete month-end closing processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of individual tax returns when required.
• Leverage Microsoft Office Suite to create reports and documentation for financial activities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, with at least 1 year in a similar role.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is a must.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Strong skills in bank and credit card reconciliation processes.
• Ability to post and adjust journal entries accurately within established timelines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other tools in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of cash flow analysis and month-end closing procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in Individual Tax Return Preparation is a plus.
