Job SummaryCrucial Link is recruiting for an experienced Industrial Electrician / PLC Technician for a food manufacturing company in Brook Park, Ohio.This is a great opportunity for a skilled electrical professional with strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience with industrial equipment, automation systems, and PLC programming. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will have experience maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical and automated systems.
ResponsibilitiesThe Industrial Electrician / PLC Technician will be responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment
- Working with motors, drives, controls, lighting, and power distribution systems
- Programming, troubleshooting, and modifying PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems
- Diagnosing electrical and control system issues using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools
- Performing preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
- Supporting new equipment installations and automation projects
- Working with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance
- Following all safety procedures, including OSHA and NFPA 70E standards
- Documenting completed work and assisting with electrical drawings and control system records
RequirementsQualified candidates should have:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field preferred
- 4–7 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experience preferred
- Journeyman Electrician license preferred, but equivalent industrial electrical experience will be considered
- Strong PLC programming experience required
- Experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar platforms
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networks
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and control systems
- Ability to work occasional overtime or weekends for urgent repairs
- Must have own hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred ExperiencePreferred but not required:
- Robotics experience
- SCADA systems experience
- Vision systems experience
- Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Basic mechanical knowledge, including pneumatics and hydraulics
