About the Job

  • Competitive pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Great Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Shift Times: 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Duration: 3 month contract; potential to extend
  • Start Date: ASAP!

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of scheduling experience in the OR
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • EPIC experience
  • PACS experience
  • Strong computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to handle high-volume calls
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm in stressful situations
  • Experience in a busy, fast-paced environment

Skillset and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to use/apply medical terminology in performing duties
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional areas
  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to foster relationships, build trust, and collaborate with providers, nurses, staff, and patients
  • Strong punctuality, adaptability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and respond calmly under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Schedule pre-op, new, and return patient appointments (including imaging studies and clinic visits)
  • Perform case intake and case scheduling in collaboration with Nurse Practitioners
  • Manage and respond to a high volume of calls, providing clear communication to patients and staff
  • Upload radiology images to PACS and Life Image
  • Obtain and scan outside medical records via RightFax; distribute records as appropriate
  • Scan and maintain patient records in the system
  • Run reports across multiple locations (300P, 500P, OSC, Hoover, Emeryville, CCSB)
  • Assist managers with scheduling tasks, patient movement, and schedule adjustments as a super user
  • Maintain patient follow-up after procedures
  • Communicate with referring offices and physicians to ensure accurate scheduling and patient coordination
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in cross-training to support clinic operations
  • Ensure all administrative and scheduling duties meet/exceed organizational service standards
