We provide vascular access device insertion services, post access support services including declotting, line removal, port access and venous access troubleshooting. Job Description

As a Vascular Access Nurse Trainer, you will work closely with Vascular Access Nurse Consultant Trainees to develop their skills in PICC line, Midline, and ultrasound-guided IV procedures. You will serve as a mentor and hands-on instructor, ensuring trainees gain the knowledge, confidence, and clinical competency needed to provide high-quality vascular access care.

This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of vascular access nurses while working across multiple care settings—including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health—sharing your expertise in a mobile environment. Full-time scheduling requirements four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on training and demonstration for PICC, Midline, and peripheral IV insertion, including ultrasound-guided techniques.
  • Mentor trainees on vascular access procedures, troubleshooting, and clinical decision-making.
  • Conduct competency evaluations, skills assessments, and performance feedback to ensure clinical proficiency.
  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for vascular access education.
  • Observe trainees in real patient-care scenarios, providing guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for ongoing education.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new vascular access nurses into mobile and facility-based teams.
  • Monitor and report on trainee progress, documenting milestones and development outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection control standards during all training activities.

Qualifications

  • Passion for vascular access and teaching
  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • Experience in nursing education, precepting, or mentorship
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in vascular access
  • Mobile vascular access experience preferred
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs.
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound.
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with competency assessment, skills validation, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
  • Must LOVE Vascular Access

Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.

Salary Range$115,000—$125,000 USD
