Position Overview

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery in support of quarry production activities. This role is critical to maintaining productivity, ensuring safe material handling, and supporting daily operational goals.


Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, haul trucks, and related machinery

• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with production plans and safety procedures


Safety & Equipment Care

• Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections of assigned equipment

• Identify and report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or equipment deficiencies

• Maintain equipment cleanliness and proper operating condition


Operational Support

• Follow supervisor instructions and daily work assignments

• Work collaboratively with site personnel to support efficient operations

• Comply with all site rules, safety policies, and operational procedures


Qualifications

Required

• Prior experience operating heavy equipment in quarry, construction, or similar environments

• Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions


Preferred

• Relevant licenses or certifications for heavy equipment operation

• Experience working in quarry or mining environments


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Physically demanding outdoor environment

• Prolonged standing, sitting, climbing, and operating machinery

• Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and varying weather conditions


Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
