Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer – Field Operations

Rhode Island | MA | CT | Field-Based


Salaried Position


Atlantic Abatement Corporation is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to oversee active projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity across our operations.


This is a senior, field-focused role responsible for monitoring job sites, supporting and managing crews, and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company standards and state/ federal regulations. The EHS Officer will report directly to ownership and play a critical role in operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and unannounced site inspections
  • Verify compliance with asbestos, OSHA, and environmental regulations
  • Monitor production, scheduling, and labor efficiency
  • Ensure containment integrity, work practices, and final quality meet company standards
  • Support crew performance, training, and accountability
  • Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication with ownership


Required Experience & Credentials

  • Minimum 3 years experience in industrial hygiene
  • Active Asbestos Project Monitor and/or Asbestos Supervisor license
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER
  • Strong working knowledge of construction and EHS best practices
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Professional references required

Additional safety certifications (confined space, aerial lift, fall protection, etc.) strongly preferred.

  • Asbestos abatement: 3 years (Preferred)
  • EHS: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Quality control: 3 years (Preferred)
  • General Construction 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Project Monitor (Preferred)
  • Asbestos Certification (Preferred)


Willingness to travel:
