Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer – Field Operations
Rhode Island | MA | CT | Field-Based
Salaried Position
Atlantic Abatement Corporation is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to oversee active projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity across our operations.
This is a senior, field-focused role responsible for monitoring job sites, supporting and managing crews, and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company standards and state/ federal regulations. The EHS Officer will report directly to ownership and play a critical role in operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and unannounced site inspections
- Verify compliance with asbestos, OSHA, and environmental regulations
- Monitor production, scheduling, and labor efficiency
- Ensure containment integrity, work practices, and final quality meet company standards
- Support crew performance, training, and accountability
- Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions
- Maintain clear documentation and communication with ownership
Required Experience & Credentials
- Minimum 3 years experience in industrial hygiene
- Active Asbestos Project Monitor and/or Asbestos Supervisor license
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER
- Strong working knowledge of construction and EHS best practices
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Professional references required
Additional safety certifications (confined space, aerial lift, fall protection, etc.) strongly preferred.
