Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in custom panel design and switchgear systems. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electrical control panels and switchgear assemblies for industrial applications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing or custom panel environment and is comfortable working cross-functionally with production and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical schematics, layouts, and panel designs for custom switchgear and control systems
  • Interpret customer specifications and ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards
  • Work closely with production teams to support panel assembly, troubleshooting, and testing
  • Select components including breakers, relays, PLCs, and other switchgear-related equipment
  • Review and ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and other applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving design or field-related issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and production processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred but not required with relevant experience)
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering within custom panel building, switchgear, or similar industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and schematics
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design software
  • Familiarity with switchgear systems, power distribution, and industrial control panels
  • Understanding of NEC, UL508A, and other relevant standards
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Hands-on experience with panel wiring or testing
  • PLC knowledge is a plus
