Position Summary
The Event Sales Manager supports the hotel’s group and event revenue goals by proactively selling, coordinating, and servicing social, corporate, and catered events. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional looking to build a career in hotel sales, with hands-on exposure to the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry through execution and post-event follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Respond promptly to incoming event and group inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms
- Conduct site tours and present event spaces in a professional, engaging manner
- Prepare and distribute proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs)
- Assist in negotiating event terms, pricing, and concessions under management guidance
- Proactively prospect new business through outbound calls, networking, and local partnerships
Event Coordination & Execution
- Serve as a primary contact for assigned events, ensuring a seamless handoff to operations
- Collaborate closely with Catering, Banquets, Front Office, and AV teams
- Ensure all event details are clearly documented and communicated
- Attend pre-con meetings and, when needed, on-site events to ensure client satisfaction
Account Management & Administration
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM and event management systems
- Track leads, conversion rates, and monthly production goals
- Support senior sales managers with reporting, forecasting, and special projects
- Participate in ongoing sales training and departmental meetings
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in hotel sales, events, catering, or hospitality operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Professional demeanor with strong customer service instincts
- Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Delphi, Opera, or similar systems a plus
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent hospitality experience will be considered
