PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To develop and then execute on a reoccurring basis Internal Operating Audits for Donated Goods Retail, Administrative departments, and Mission Services Programs. This position also assists with the ongoing development and execution of the Asset Protection and Safety compliance training programs. This person conducts additional auditing as directed, trainings, investigations, general safety assessments, security duties, and other general administrative asset protection duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts audits and investigations with integrity, accuracy and professional skepticism while ensuring they are completed in a timely manner as required. Assists and performs maintenance of the Internal Audit Program. Evaluates existing audit programs and then provides recommendations on changes to execute as approved. Identifies risk areas for theft and fraud and under the direction of the Vice President of Risk and Compliance, coordinates and executes investigations. Develops, promotes, and executes Asset Protection and Safety (APS) compliance trainings for the company. Works with a cross-functional team including the Corporate Learning & Development Manager, Asset Protection and Safety team members, and the Marketing Department. Takes an active role in preventing, detecting, investigating, resolving, and reporting internal and external theft issues as well as violations of policy. Prepares accurate incident and audit reports as applicable. Reports all incidents to the Director of Asset Protection and Safety. Performs security and safety inspections as directed. Maintains confidentiality of information. Receives work assignments and instructions. Answers questions and communicates with management, co-workers, program participants, and the public. Provides training both during monthly ambassador training meetings and during completion of audits as required, as needs arise. May be asked to support general Asset Protection and Safety functions such as supporting the Security Operations Center, maintenance of numerous security systems, case management, and exception reporting systems. Drives on company business as required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school Diploma or GED. Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Two (2) years prior experience in business operations, administrative functions, Asset Protection and Safety or internal auditing experience is preferred. Ability to work multiple store locations and flexible hours with ability to be on call 24 hours. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Must have own or access to a reliable vehicle, a valid California driver’s license, liability insurance, and a DMV record that is acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company.
