Job DescriptionSalary:
The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) will work directly with the inside sales team to coordinate business resources for potential SIGMA business opportunities. The BDC will ensure all incoming opportunities are assessed and distributed to the appropriate team within the organization. The BDC should be highly organized and possess strong project management skills as this person will oversee opportunities in their entirety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Distribute marketing leads to salespeople based on a variety of factors including workload, salesperson experience, process adherence, and the ability to close sales
- Maintain positive relations with customers and potential customers daily
- Collaborate with internal departments to assess where the need or opportunity should be allocated and communicate next steps with team
- Ensure internal departments including, but not limited to accounting, logistics, and the shop work sales activities in accordance with processes. The goal is to remove salespeople from process breakdowns to free them up for more customer contacts
- Field incoming opportunities to the appropriate area of the company (ex SIGMA Group, Integration, Surplus)
- Assist salespeople with such items as: preparing purchase orders or potential sales quotes, follow-up on aging opportunities, ensure salespeople receive timeline responses to OEM quotes, Wanteds, research tickets, pricing requests, and more.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Works well in a fluid environment where responsibilities frequently change based on the needs of the business
- Basic concept knowledge of project management (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure)
- High level of communication skills (internal and external)
- Organizational skills - strong attention to detail, ability to multitask
- Highly motivated; self starter, forward thinker, problem solver
- General knowledge of divisions within SIGMA; industry knowledge a plus
- Professional delivery of messaging via phone and email
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in a business related field is strongly preferred.
- Past project management experience
