About This Role
The teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The teacher must be skilled in communicating in English with both children and adults to meet the needs of the children, and resolve parental concerns.
What You'll Do
Some responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and implement the Creative Curriculum
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience in a classroom
- Strong Oral and written communication skills in English and basic computer skills
- Ability to work well with others and to foster a team environment
- A strong understanding of early child development
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
- Must clear full background check and pass health screening
- Ability to lift approximately 10-40 pounds is needed when caring for a child
- The ability to sit, stand, squat, walk for extended time outdoors...being able to communicate and work with children at eye level no matter what position that might entail.
