Job DescriptionPosition Summary
- The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and products. This position is responsible for maintaining organized inventory, processing shipments, and collaborating with various teams to meet production and customer needs..
- 1- Day Shift Opening- Hours are from 7:00am - 3:30pm- Monday through Friday- Overtime work required depending on department demands and must be available to work nights/weekends.
- Pay Rate: $18.00 to $21.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Material Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and finished products.
- Verify the accuracy of received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect and document the condition of received materials, reporting any discrepancies or damage.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain organized and clean storage areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and update records in the inventory management system.
- Ensure materials are stored appropriately to prevent damage and ensure easy access.
- Order Processing:
- Prepare items for shipment, packing, and labeling according to customer orders.
- Coordinate shipping logistics, generating shipping labels, and scheduling pick-ups.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and tracking information.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect outgoing products to ensure they meet quality standards and match customer specifications.
- Report any non-conformance issues to shipping and receiving supervisor
- Communication:
- Collaborate with various departments, to fulfill orders and address inquiries.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies for shipping, receiving, and storage.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping documents.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain shipping and receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to his supervisor
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and shipping software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification may be required).
- Must have a valid California driver's license

- This is a physical position, in which a worker will be standing for long periods of time, including repetitive motions of the back, arms and hands. This position will also require the individual to stoop, kneel and crouch, including the ability to lift and/ or move up to 35 lbs.
- Exposure of ambient temperatures/ weather conditions in the warehouse and outside in the staging area.
- Standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
Use of material-handling equipment as needed.
This Shipping and Receiving Clerk position is vital to the manufacturing process, ensuring that materials and products flow smoothly from suppliers to production and, ultimately, to customers. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficiency and success of the manufacturing department by maintaining accurate inventory and facilitating timely shipments.
