Job DescriptionMaintenance Electrician
Currently hiring for Maintenance Electricians in the Chicago, IL area. Hiring immediately.
Description
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment.
- Connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
- Replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Draw and interpret electrical schematics.
- Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, including conveyors and programmable controls.
- Understand microprocessor hardware and software configurations and perform basic analog and digital circuit design.
- Troubleshoot PLC using basic and ladder logic, read and write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints, and conduct analytical diagnosis of problems.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems on industrial machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and program PLCs with experience in reading/interpreting ladder logic and inputs/outputs.
- Experience in preventative maintenance on conveyors/automated machinery and diagnosing and repairing machinery to reduce downtime.
- Understanding of thermoformers, injection mold, extruders, and associated equipment.
- Experience with 480 volts wiring motors and variable frequency drives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- AA degree in Electronics Technology is a bonus.
- Completion of 4 years apprenticeship training or equivalent electrical trade school is preferred.
- 2+ years related experience in troubleshooting within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Husky injection molders, Vandam, Polytype printers, and Siemens equipment is advantageous.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
