Job DescriptionSalary: $120 - $150+ Based on experience and qualifications
Job Summary:
Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects. Represents Owner/Client in day to day activities required to manage a construction project. Responsible for leadership and management of team.
Essential Functions
Provide management support of any construction related matter
Direct construction observation and contract administration activities at project site
Direct and coordinate activities of construction management team
Supervise construction management team
Monitor schedule and budget
Prepare monthly progress payment estimates of work completed and approves payment for contractors
Manage projects by analyzing reports, maps, specifications, drawings, tests, photographs, etc.
Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence between contractor and owner and designer including submittals, requests for information, change order requests and design clarifications
Negotiates change orders and recommends acceptance by the owner/client
Analyze construction claims related to additional compensation and time
Dependent on project staffing, may also be responsible for the same duties as defined in the Inspector and Project Engineer job descriptions
Position will periodically require travel between project sites; it is the individuals responsibility to provide their own transportation for such purposes
Responsible for leadership and management (results, people, culture, supervision) of a team, working independently with as-needed guidance from Director
Use feedback from the team to make informed decisions
Facilitates team communication and collaboration
Foster understanding of the impact of teams work and ensures that day-to-day expectations are clear and are being met
Coordinate closely with all project stakeholders
Deliver clear and compelling messages to team and project stakeholders
Participate in Committees
Leads team activities and coaches on technical items
Analyzes and evaluates issues and relevant factors, including risks
Helps teams anticipate issues
Coaches/mentors direct reports to apply judgment to solve problems
Skills and Qualifications
Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture degree or related field
Must have a certificate of registration as a professional engineer, a licensed architect or a certificate in construction management
Must have a minimum of four years of related work experience
Member of a minimum of 1 professional organization with increasing engagement within the professional organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Office 365
Knowledge of Procore or similar construction management software and Primavera P6 scheduling software is desirable
Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team atmosphere in order to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to make intelligent decisions while working under pressure and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
Responsible for staff professional growth and engagement
Experience in Water/Wastewater helps
Physical Qualifications
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to traverse all areas of jobsite in all types of weather. This may include walking, standing, climbing, crawling, reaching, bending and stooping for extended periods, to inspect work in progress and upon completion.
Must be able to climb ladders and enter confined spaces, with appropriate training.
