PrideStaff is currently seeking a Saw Machine Operator to work with materials such as foam and metal sponges.
The individual in this role will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining industrial saws to cut large raw blocks into precise shapes and sizes.
2nd shift 2:30 pm-10:30 pm pay rate $17
Core Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation: Adjust saw blades, set guides/stops, and configure computer-based controls (CNC) to match technical specifications or blueprints.
- Precision Cutting: Measure and mark stock for cuts, ensuring accuracy to tight tolerances (e.g., 1/16th of an inch) using tools like tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Material Handling: Use forklifts, overhead cranes, or hoists to load heavy materials onto the saw table and move finished pieces to packaging.
- Quality Control: Inspect materials for defects before and after cutting, ensuring they meet customer requirements and quality standards.
- Maintenance: Perform daily equipment checks, replace worn blades, and clean or lubricate machines to prevent downtime.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with various saw types (band saws, circular saws, CNC) and hand tools.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to perform basic shop math and read technical drawings or blueprints.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for 8–12 hour shifts and lift heavy weights, often up to 50 pounds
- Safety Focus: Strict adherence to safety protocols, including wearing PPE and following Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
