Location: York, Maine
Job Type: Travel Contract (13 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $38.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Start Date: 07/13/2026
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Schedule: Variable Shifts Between 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: Rotating Weekends

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy IV Technician to support hospital pharmacy operations through sterile and non-sterile compounding, medication preparation, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong sterile compounding experience, exceptional attention to detail, and knowledge of hospital pharmacy workflows.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Active State of Maine Registered Pharmacy Technician License.

• Current PTCB National Certification.

• Current BLS Certification.

• Experience with sterile compounding and IV preparation.

• Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> standards.

• Experience handling hazardous medications and utilizing Closed System Transfer Devices (CSTDs).

• Strong medication calculation and dosage preparation skills.

• Experience working in a hospital or inpatient pharmacy environment preferred.

• Strong organizational, documentation, and inventory management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic technique.

• Maintain compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.

• Perform medication reconstitution, dilution, and dosage calculations.

• Utilize Closed System Transfer Devices (CSTDs) for hazardous drug preparation.

• Handle and dispose of hazardous medications and waste according to regulations.

• Maintain accurate documentation of compounded medications.

• Support unit-dose medication distribution activities.

• Restock automated dispensing cabinets and medication inventory.

• Assist with medication ordering and inventory management.

• Perform pharmacy data entry for pharmacist verification.

• Monitor clean room quality standards, temperature logs, and pressure logs.

• Participate in quality assurance, medication safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
