Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team on a night shift. This role requires a commitment to providing excellent patient care in a medical-surgical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with various medical conditions including diabetes management, congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension (HTN), COVID-19, renal failure, and thyroid issues.
- Administer medications and treatments as per healthcare protocols, including blood product administration and management of dysrhythmias.
- Utilize telemetry monitoring to observe patient vitals and respond to any changes in condition.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.
- Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and other safety protocols in patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner charting system.
Qualifications:
- Valid state RN license required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Experience in telemetry settings is preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Must possess strong assessment skills, knowledge of Heparin protocols, and experience with various respiratory management techniques.
- Candidates who have 1.5 years of experience but possess strong qualifications or travel experience may also be considered.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with no exemptions.
- Successful completion of a nicotine drug screen; candidates who use any form of nicotine will not be considered.
- Two supervisor references required.
- Ability to float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital if necessary.
Unit Details:
- Patient ratio: 5 patients per nurse.
- Daily census: 26 patients.
- Unit equipped with 33 beds, including 17 rooms.
- Support services available: rapid response teams, transportation, and more.
