Job Description

This role offers the chance to lead high-profile capital projects, support large-scale production operations, and contribute to exciting new investments in cutting-edge equipment lines.

About the Role
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will lead CAPEX projects from cradle to grave—ranging from weeks to multi-month initiatives—focused on installing, upgrading, and expanding heavy industrial equipment. You will also play a key role in supporting plant operations, serving as a resource for maintenance teams and helping ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency across the facility.

This role combines project management with hands-on mechanical expertise, offering long-term growth as you become a go-to technical expert on hydraulic presses, pneumatics, and complex mechanical systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead mechanical capital projects from planning and design through installation and commissioning.

  • Oversee equipment layout, integration, and structural assessments.

  • Support plant reliability initiatives, working with maintenance on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams on high-impact expansion projects.

  • Review supplier CAD drawings, adjust layouts, and ensure equipment meets technical and safety standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of mechanical project management experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong mechanical background with hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, large machinery, and moving equipment.

  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion, including equipment installation and evaluation.

  • AutoCAD (or similar) experience for equipment/plant layouts.

  • Mechanical aptitude and curiosity—comfortable working in large, hot, and demanding plant environments.

Nice to Have

  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (preferred but not required).

Why Join Us?

  • Work at one of the largest aluminum extrusion plants in North America.

  • Be part of massive growth and investment, including new extrusion lines and major CAPEX projects.

  • Make a direct impact on equipment performance, plant expansion, and technical problem-solving.

  • Enjoy a tight-knit, supportive engineering team with strong leadership.

  • Comprehensive benefits, including:

    • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance

    • Retirement savings with company match/contributions

    • Education assistance

    • Quarterly profit sharing (average 6–19%)

    • Retention bonus up to $3,000

    • Relocation assistance provided

    • On-site gym & café
